Setting Goals
By Sandi Hubert
Did you set your goals for 2007 yet? If not, what are you waiting for? Setting and publishing your goals allow you to have clear focus and vision on accomplishing your dreams. Every year during the New Year's weekend my husband and I sit down and figure out what we are going to accomplish in terms of our family goals, personal, spiritual and physical goals. We determine our big purchases for the year, our vacation goals, and what goals we want to accomplish with our two children. We unleash this powerful goal setting in our business here at Elite IT Services as well and we put visual and image to our goals. For home, we are making a dream book or 2007 Goals scrapbook of cut out pictures from magazines that illustrate and materialize our goals in a visual manifestation. We have cut out the swing set that we want to purchase for the boys to install in the backyard. We have a picture of the deck that we want to build in our backyard. We use cut out words and pictures to represent our spiritual and mental goals as well. I am a firm believer that we must impress upon our minds what we want to achieve by stating, writing, and imaging our goals. We laminate our written goals and post them throughout the house. At Elite IT Services, I've created a beautiful background setting with our MASTER GOAL boldly stated in front of a beautiful sunset, along with our subgoals, trigger activities and causing ratios.
We make no mistake in understanding where we are headed and the path we need to get there. With that said there are many of us that just don't know where to begin. I think some people think there is a set of rules or process for setting goals. Plain and simple - sit down and ask yourself "What Do I Want?" Don't limit your goal setting and dreams to what you can afford. How can you not afford to becoming more in your life? If you're stuck in goal setting and understanding your potentiality, I have two great resources for you; the first, is the highly sought-after, well-known "Champions Workshop" being hosted here in St. Louis by Klemmer & Associates on Thursday, January 25, 2007, 7:00 - 10:00 PM. Champions Workshop featuring Shad Wehrli - International Speaker and Trainer from Klemmer and Associates. If you are stuck and need to move forward in your life or even if you are not stuck and you want to achieve more, check out this workshop for only $20. Seats are limited, so commit and enroll. I hope to see you there. The second resource, is a workshop by Karen Hoffman and Julie Hood through Joy of Goals hosted by Karen and Julie at Lifeworks in Winghaven, 1001 Boardwalk Springs Place, Suite 111, O'Fallon, Missouri, 63368. This is $124 and includes lunch and workbooks. Seats are limited to only 14 for this one.
Don't let another year slip by where you run on autopilot and never stop long enough to figure out what you really want and how you are going to get it. If you put it off and wait, it will soon be another New Year's Eve and you will have no proof of what you have accomplished, because you didn't write it down, commit to it, or visualize it.
